Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann joined cruiseline Peter Deilmann to celebrate its new brochure and the addition of a ship to its fleet.
The German operator’s UK managing director Stuart Perl said the company, which currently has one ship – Deutschland – and nine river vessels, was looking into building a new ship for the international market which would be launched around 2011.
Its latest brochure 2008/09 Ocean Cruise, Grand Hotel Voyages, features 27 departures which vary between two and 20 nights with cruise-only prices for the first time.
He said: “It offers a flexible travel itinerary for the customer – they can create a bespoke and tailor-made product for their client.”
Perl also said that trade recognition in the UK has been given a push and in two weeks has seen more than 100 UK agents and consumers visit the ship.
Last week agents, operators, media and Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann joined the owners of the company – Gisa and Hedda Deilmann – on board Deutschland for an evening of fireworks and champagne on the Thames by Tower Bridge.
