Tel Aviv supplement – September 2007

If you are looking for new treasures to discover, or if you wish to return to old ones, this is a great time to visit Tel Aviv.

Israel is a fascinating combination of the old and the new, the past and the future, and Tel Aviv is a wonderful illustration of this unique mixture.

As it nears its 100th anniversary, in 2009, the destination is more alive than ever before.

Along with Jaffa, Tel Aviv is a city that rose out of the sands; it is a thriving cosmopolitan city by the sea, a city that never sleeps, and a city that celebrates independence, modernity, technology, diversity and pluralism every day ofthe week.

From our treasured Bauhaus architecture that has earned us the name ‘White City’ to the uninhibited Love Parade; from our spectacular beaches to our trendy cafes; from our museums and galleries to our theatre and opera – in Tel Aviv, everything is possible and everyone is welcome.

All this is waiting for UK visitors and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Shalom and Lehitra’ot

Ron Huldai
Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo
