BAA links up with bank in credit-card scheme

BAAhas launched two initiatives to boost shopping revenues at its airports.

The airport operator has teamed up with Bank of Scotland to offer a credit-card called BAA WorldCard.

Purchases qualify for points in BAA’s WorldPoints loyalty scheme, rewarding spending in shops at the company’s airports.

Holders of BAAWorldCard also qualify for cheap airport car parking, upgrades on Heathrow and Gatwick Express services and access to Fastrack security channels at Gatwick and Stansted.

The card also offers free travel insurance if travel and accommodation have been paid for with the BAA WorldCard.

BAA is also offering passengers flying to domestic and European Union destinations the opportunity to collect purchases on their return to Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow Terminals One and Two.

The firm will widely advertise the Arrivals Shopping Collection service in the run-up to Christmas.

BAA will be particularly focusing on business travellers on day-return trips.
