The High Commission of India has reverted to accepting postal applications for visas, after banning them earlier this month.
The change comes into force on November 5 and should stop the queues of potential visitors to the country which were starting as early as 2am outside the London High Commission.
The only other options to visitors and operators offering a visa service was to use specialist visa courier services – which are often expensive – or to visit Indian consulate offices in Birmingham and Edinburgh.
