Elite Vacations is featuring more city hotels in its Dubai programme to meet the growing market.
Managing director Peter Jackson said its two new hotels bring the number in the city to three and mean the operator now has 18 available in the whole of the destination as part of its 2008 Africa and Middle East programme.
It comes as the operator has seen a sales growth of 10%-15% to Dubai already this year, even though the destination’s traditional two-week beach break market remained flat.
Jackson said: “We’re maintaining the longer-duration sales, where clients want to be on the beach, but our business is really increasing thanks to growth in the
shorter-stay market.
“It is the actual city itself that is sucking people in and many of them are visiting it as part of a twin-centre break or single-stay destination. They sit on the beach in Mauritius and then want a bit of action in a city – Dubai is perfect for this as it is made up of various ‘cities’ within the city.”
Prices lead in at £698 for five nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation at the Jebel Ali Hotel, including return flights and private transfers.
