Canary Islands supplement 2008

I am delighted to introduce you to a dedicated supplement on the warm and inviting Canary Islands in this cold and wintry month of January.

The seven islands that make up the Canary Islands continue to be a favourite destination for all travellers to Spain; of the 58 million visitors to Spain in 2006 nearly one fifth visited the Canary Islands.

British holidaymakers in particular have long recognised the charm of the ancient volcanic islands. All offer outstanding beaches, crystal-clear waters and a year-round warm climate, but each one has its own personality.

Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, with their wide choice of accommodation, various attractions and miles of coastline, are perfect for families. For couples, the smaller and more tranquil islands of La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro make a compelling choice.

But the Canary Islands are about more than sun, sea and sand. With three UNESCO World Heritage sites, a unique geology, lively local open-air festivals, outstanding cuisine and wines, great diving, a thriving agri-tourism business and beautiful scenery to explore, the islands attract more than just sunseekers.

This supplement is bursting with ideas and information from the Canary Islands. You may already sell them to your customers, but take a look here – you’ll be inspired, and perhaps pleasantly surprised, by what the Canary Islands offer.
