The South Australian Bed and Breakfast Association has produced an expanded brochure detailing more than 400 units of accommodation, many in regional areas of the state. Properties include historic self-contained cottages, country estates, luxury apartments and traditional home-stays. South Australia has the highest percentage of registered B&Bs in the country at 82%, compared to the national average of 56%.
South Australia is to join New South Wales and Victoria in promoting the Murray River as part of a new tri-state marketing agreement – Tourism Murray River. The SATC, together with local partners, is to provide £14,000 towards participation in trade shows to emphasise the wide range of experiences on the Murray River, including houseboats, eco-tourism, water sports, golfing, indigenous tourism and food and wine.
Kirkala Estate, home of the famous Jacob’s Creek vineyards, is offering a range of short-stay packages based on the themes of bush-walking, wine and golf. There is also a one-night package including accommodation, breakfast, dinner with wine and vineyard tour from about £100 per person twinshare.
