British Airways will launch its dynamic packaging tool with BA flights in June 2007.
The system is being developed by content management technology provider AO International and is the second phase of a wider partnership between it and BA Holidays.
Travolution, sister title to Travel Weekly, has learnt the system will be in place for customer use as early as June this year, timed to coincide with late bookings for the summer and winter sun for 2008/09.
AO is developing a database system which will include what it calls “OTA conforming XML handling” capabilities to connect BA flights to other products.
OpenJaw Technologies is understood to be building other areas of the DP system.
The first part of the AO deal, announced this week, sees BA Holidays implement a back-end system to distribute content around the site, including images and editorial.
Visitors to the BA Holidays website can currently only book hotels, car hire, sightseeing and holidays via the BA.com site.
BA Holidays would not comment on a launch date for the DP system.
