Live music promoter Ibiza Rocks is launching a destination hotel in Ibiza and has struck deals with trade partners to sell it through UK agents.
The former three-star Club Paraiso hotel in San Antonio will reopen as the 368-room Ibiza Rocks Hotel after a refurbishment on May 31.
The company has signed up bedswithease.com, Holiday Brokers and Broadway Travel to sell rooms and flight packages. The hotel has also retained its deal with Thomson Holidays.
Holidaymakers who book a room will also be guaranteed a ticket to live music performances organised by Ibiza Rocks.
Bed bank bedswithease.com plans to take 10 agents to the opening party, where Coventry band The Enemy will play live.
Agents who make bookings will be entered into a prize draw to win a place to attend.
Sales and marketing director Theo Demetriou said: “We will target areas such as Sheffield, Cardiff and Manchester and agencies such as STA Travel that deal with the student market.”
The hotel aims to boost Ibiza’s image as a live music destination as opposed to a clubbing hub. Ibiza Rocks is credited with helping to regenerate the island over the past three years by bringing rock and indie bands to play on the beach at Bar M.
Facilities will include outdoor swimming pools, a gym, shops, chill-out lounges, a pizza restaurant, 24-hour bar and recording studio. There will be a monthly resident band.
Ibiza Rocks Travel managing director Mike Bayon said the concept had stemmed from providing live music to a slighter older youth audience. “San Antonio was traditionally an operator package destination but numbers have been decreasing for several years. There was an opportunity to refresh the Ibiza market with this new youth market.”
