Kuoni was last night recognised as being among the best 100 companies in the UK to work for, while Bourne Leisure was fifth in the best big companies to work for list.
It was the fourth year running that Kuoni UK has made it onto the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies list, while Bourne Leisure received a Lifetime Achievement Award for making the top five of its list for five consecutive years.
Kuoni, part of German travel group DER Touristik, scored highly in categories including: ‘I love working for this organisation’, ‘I am excited about where this organisation is going’ and ‘My manager cares about how satisfied I am in my job’.
Initiatives including a huge fruit delivery to promote staff wellbeing, parties with live bands, overseas educational trips and a four-week induction programme were listed as some of the reasons why the company scored highly as a great workplace.
Kuoni UK managing director Derek Jones said: “Receiving a Best Companies accreditation is a highly prestigious accolade, sought after by companies across all industries looking to achieve high levels of employee engagement.
“I’m proud to lead a team of enthusiastic and passionate people who feel proud to work at Kuoni, but we are never complacent.
“It’s the fourth year we’ve been listed and every year we are inspired by the great work other organisations are doing.”
Erman Housein, sales & marketing manager for Bourne Leisure, said: “We are extremely honoured to have been recognised in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For category once again.
“Securing fifth place is fantastic news for us, especially as this is the 10th year running we have featured, and scooping a Lifetime Achievement Award is the icing on the cake.
“This award truly is a testament to the pride, passion and dedication of our team, who fully deserve it.”
Holiday Extras also received a wellbeing special award at the 100 Best Companies ceremony.
