If Only launches incentive scheme to Malaysia

Luxury operator If Only… has launched an incentive scheme to drive sales to Malaysia.

Managing director Brendan Maguire said the new promotion will see agents given a specially designed board game. Agents will earn points for making sales to Malaysia or displaying promotional posters.

The first to cross the finish line by October 31 will win a pair of tickets to the Malaysian Grand Prix, complete with flights and accommodation. Corporate tickets for a Manchester United Premiership game and educational trips to Malaysia will be given to the runners up.

Maguire said: “I think it will work as the prizes are a bit special and (as an operator) you need an advantage no matter how good your product is.”

He added the operator will also reward any travel agent making an enquiry or sale to Malaysia with a small cuddly toy monkey.

Maguire said he was always keen to launch agent promotions as the trade accounts for 98% of the operator’s sales, which are up 40% year on year so far this for 2008.
