Funway Holidays sales team ditch cars for hoverboards

Funway Holidays’ sales team will see hoverboards replace their cars from today.

April also sees the start of a ‘Go Green’ campaign which will include guided hoverboard tours around the US and Caribbean, encouraging customers to also go green.

The specially designed ‘Holiday Hoverboards’ to be used by Funway have an average speed of 8 mph.

As this will have an impact on the number of agencies visited in the UK, the operator is recruiting additional staff to the sales force with plans to have 10 ‘Eco Reps’ on the road.

The hoverboards have been customised specially for Funway including brochure storage plus Bluetooth speakers and LED lights that give a light show in sync to the music they play.

Product destination manager, Malcolm Davies, said: “Forty per cent of all journeys under two miles that people make everyday are still made by car – and as we all know engines are at their most inefficient during short journeys.

“We want to make a difference and the introduction of the sales team’s new transportation is the first step to keeping it green.

“As a leader in two-wheeled electricity mobility, the hoverboard offers the environmentally friendly transportation alternative.

“Each hoverboard will cost aproximately £1,000 including the special design features so this represents a significant investment for us but adds greatly to our green credentials and long term savings for the planet.”
