Bahamas Flavour fam trip: what travel agents thought

Specialist operator Bahamas Flavour held its first educational in May 2008.

Juliet Dennis spoke to some of the travel agents who joined the trip.

What’s your view of the Bahamas as a result of going on the fam trip?

Helen Furlong, proprietor, Universal Reservations, Chingford, Essex“The Bahamas is a good alternative to Barbados and offers twin-centre holidays to experience different islands. The trip has been worthwhile as this is somewhere we do get enquiries about. I didn’t realise what a good destination it was for diving.”

Victor Kaye, managing director, Gadabouts Travel, London“I’m surprised by how reasonably priced some of the packages are and we will definitely sell the destination to honeymooners. The last time I was here was seven years ago and I have now got a more positive view of the Atlantis hotel because we’ve had a proper viewing of it.”

Jane Crowther, travel consultant, Global Star Travel, Hayes, Bromley“I have not sold the Bahamas before because clients think it’s more expensive, but in fact it’s half the price of somewhere such as the Seychelles and very affordable compared to destinations such as Antigua.”
