CO-OP Travelcare has extended its network further into Scotland by taking over nine shops north of the border.
The agencies are part of the Lothian, Borders and Angus Co-operative Society and will be rebranded under the Travelcare banner.
It brings the number of Travelcare shops in Scotland to 23 and the total across the UK to 289.
LBACwill retain ownership of the businesses and responsibility for staff with Travelcare taking over branch operation and also their promotional activity.
All nine shops, which generate combined sales of £8m, will be refurbished over the next 15 months.
Co-op Travelcare group general manager Yvonne Rankin said: “This enables us to expand our trading areas and strengthen our presence in Scotland.”
LBAC chief executive Bob Jamieson described the move as logical for the society.
The new branches, which from April 3 will come under the day to day control of Travelcare Scottish regional manager Jean Smith, are located in Berwick, North Berwick, Dumfries, Galashiels, Haddington, Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso and Tranent.
