Caribtours is building a bookable website giving agents the chance to make round-the-clock bookings and to cash in on the dynamic packaging boom.
Head of sales and marketing Jaye Cowle said the new site should be ready to launch in October and would allow agents to get quotes outside of office hours as well as make bookings without speaking to one of the operator’s reservations team.
It will also allow agents to source and buy both accommodation and flight-only product. Last year alone accommodation-only sales accounted for 20% of the operators sales and the figure is growing this year.
Cowle said: “It is such a shame that we are missing out on bookings because our offices are closed. However, our call centre won’t change, we will still have eight expert reservations staff.”
She added the agent-only site would be accessible through the operator’s current public-facing site and agents would also be able to make bookings with Caribtours’ sister operator The Private Travel Company, which sells far eastern product.
Agents will earn commission on bookings although the final figures are yet to be agreed, while top-selling agents will have the chance to set their own commission levels.
