Barrhead Travel has appointed Linda Armit as head of sales.
Armit, who was formerly regional sales manager at STA Travel, will join Barrhead in early July, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry.
She will help oversee the company’s sales strategy and report into sales director, Karen Breen, who sits on the board of directors.
Her appointment follows news of Barrhead Travel’s recruitment drive across the business and the opening of its latest retail store in Leicester.
Chief executive Sharon Munro, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Linda to head up our sales team during what is an extremely exciting period of growth for the business. We have a significant expansion plan in place for the next 18 months and her appointment is one of many new roles being created.
“Linda’s flair for team management and enhancing business performance will strengthen our sales division, and she will help to roll out the next stages of our expansion plans.
