Geoffrey Appleyard, 71, from Evesham, Worcestershire, died on June 22 after falling ill at the Grand Hotel Gardone in Lake Garda, having eaten dinner there hours earlier. Other guests were taken to hospital with vomiting and diarrhoea.
Kuoni, Inghams, Prestige Holidays and TUI Travel (Thomson), which all had clients staying at the property, have made a joint decision to pull out of the hotel until July 10.
A spokeswoman for Thomson Lakes and Mountains said: “We, along with the other operators, have decided to offer customers due to visit the Grand Hotel Gardone alternative accommodation or the option to cancel their trip.”
Meanwhile, law firm Irwin Mitchell revealed it has been approached by more than 20 people about taking legal action against the operators.
