City Sightseeing targets trade growth as it unveils Orlando itinerary

Hop-on, hop-off bus tour specialist City Sightseeing is targeting significant growth through the UK trade after launching its latest tour in Orlando.

The operator offers tours in 120 locations and 32 countries around the globe, and claims to be the market leader in terms of passenger numbers and network.

Speaking at the IPW conference in Washington, Olly Nicholls, director of global distribution and partnerships, said: “The trade accounts for about 10% of our sales globally and around 20% in the UK.

“We are growing our trade business and committing more resources to it, and we are looking to increase it by 5% a year for the next five years.”

He added: “Our size and global reach means we have a lot more scalability than our competitors in terms of account management for agents.

“We have strong relationships with Attraction World, DoSomethingDifferent and Thomson Tickets in addition to US specialist operators, and we are looking to get the message out about the opportunities available to sell our product.”

Four new itineraries have been launched recently, in Orlando, San Juan, Galway and Aarhus.

The Orlando itinerary is in addition to the operator’s existing Theme Park Express service, and includes multiple stops including the Orlando 360 observation wheel, the Sealife centre and Premium Outlets malls as well as the main parks.

One and two-day tickets are available, and the company has also released seven and 14-day options.

Adult tickets start from £22 for a day and £78 for a 14-day pass. Child tickets start from £16 for a day and £62 for a 14-day pass.
