Kuoni is to open its 48th travel agency as a John Lewis concession in Oxford.
Due to open in October, the operator will be involved in the design and lay-out of the concession due to the fact the department store is a new build.
It will be Kuoni’s 16th concession in a John Lewis store. It currently also has 32 standalone stores, making 47 in total.
No further shops are in the pipeline for this year, according to sales director Helen Roberts, who said there were ‘no gaping hole’ geographically in the current portfolio.
The company has always maintained it would be unlikely to open more than around 50 stores.
Kuoni also has 10 partner stores, with sales of its holidays from those independently-owned stores 10% up year on year. It plans a VIP trip for the owners of partner stores to Italy in October.
