Airline representation firm APG has extended a GSA arrangement with Cypriot budget carrier Cobalt Air to include the UK and Ireland.
Cobalt Air currently operates 13 weekly flights to the UK and Ireland with non-stop services from its hub in Larnaca to Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin.
APG will be provide sales and marketing services as well as call centre facilities as part of the agreement.
The company already partners with Cobalt Air in Belgium, France, Israel and Spain.
Iata will be able to book Cobalt Air flights from Stansted and Manchester via GDS and issue tickets via BSP UK through a code share agreement with APG which has its own GP airline code.
Cobalt Air’s flights to Birmingham and Dublin will be available shortly under the same code share arrangement.
The airline operates scheduled services using a fleet of six Airbus A319s and A320s from its home base at Larnaca to airports in Greece, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Israel, Ireland, and France and has recently announced flights to Iran.
With future aircraft deliveries planned, the airline is looking to aggressively expand its network, using Cyprus as a hub to connect Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
The expansion plans follow the demise of Cyprus Airways in 2015, leaving Cobalt Air is the largest and fastest growing airline in Cyprus.
