A team of travel agents, suppliers and customers took to the water to raise more than £500 for Abta LifeLine at this year’s Tonbridge Dragon Boat Race.

The Baldwins Buccaneers, a team put together by local travel agency Baldwins Travel, dressed up as pirates for the fifth annual race event.

The crew were split into two teams of ‘land’ tour operators, captained by If Only’s Neil Sealy, and the ‘cruise’ tour operators, captained by Tauck’s Steven Spivak.

Among those who took part were staff from a range of tour operators including Wendy Wu Tours, Beachcomber, Travelsphere, Classic Collection, Latin Routes, Silverfern, RCL,
Silversea, Uniworld and Cuba Holidays.

Despite not making it through to the event’s final after taking part in three races, the Buccaneers scooped the award for the best-dressed team. One of Baldwins Travel’s team, Tricia Lester, got into character so much she even took a tumble overboard as the team crossed the finish line on their final race.
