Sandals and Beaches resorts to be “bigger and better” after Hurricane Irma

Sandals and Beaches Resorts has promised that its resorts in Antigua and Turks & Caicos will be “bigger and better than ever before” when they reopen at the end of the year after recovering from the damage inflicted by Hurricane Irma.

Karl Thompson, managing director, UK & Europe, praised the travel trade for its support during the category five hurricane.

He said: “The last few weeks have been extremely difficult for the Caribbean and our thoughts go out to all of those who have been affected by Hurricane Irma. We’d like to thank the trade for their unwavering support over the last few weeks as we work to relocate guests and to repair and renovate our resorts in Antigua and Turks & Caicos.

“We want to reassure agents and trade partners that we already have a highly skilled projects and design team, with over 30 years’ experience in place who are working hard to make sure that these resorts will be bigger and better than ever before when they reopen in December.

“We will be ready to roll out the red carpet for guests when they arrive at these spectacular resorts at the end of the year.”

The Beaches Turks & Caicos resort is due to reopen on December 14 and Sandals Grande Antigua on December 17.
