Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ flagship Europa 2 has emerged with a new look after a two-week refit.
The second revamp since the ship entered service in 2013 has seen work carried out across many public areas.
A former jazz club has been renamed Club 2 and the Teens’ Club has moved from Deck 7 to Deck 4 to make the space “even more private,” according to the German luxury line.
A Finnish sauna has been installed in the spa area while lounges and bars have been redesigned.
A library has been replaced wit a future cruise sales lounge and a small museum charting the history of the ship.
The auditorium has been redesigned into a studio for workshops, talks, films and yoga classes.
A lounge at the ship’s bow has been transformed into a coffee bar.
The work at the Blohm and Voss shipyard in Hamburg involved around 550 external specialists and 370 crew members.
A total of 43,055 square feet of new carpet was laid and 1,099 gallons of paint used.
