London City teams up with niche ski operator

LONDON City Airport has teamed up with First Choice-owned niche ski operator FlexiSki to boost the amount of ski business through the airport.

FlexiSki head of reservations Nicky Stephenson said 50% of the company’s business is corporate so it made sense to promote its ski programme with London City, which targets the business market.

“We tailor-make the bookings and that generates business so we both benefit,” she added.

FlexiSki operates to St Anton and Lech in Austria, Chamonix and Courchevel in France, and Verbier in Switzerland.

Packages, based on Crossair flights from London City to Geneva and Zurich, cost from £550 for a weekend in Verbier lasting from Thursday to Monday. Seven nights starts from £675.

FlexiSki was direct-sell until it was bought by First Choice this year.

Products are now fully commissionable.

London City general manager marketing communications Tricia Handley said:”Easy access from the City and Docklands and a half-hour check-in for ski equipment means it is possible for clients to be in resort from only four hours after leaving their desk.”
