Eurocamp is withdrawing sales via agents and making two people in its trade sales team redundant.
The decision to abandon sales through high street travel agents follows a strategic review of its distribution channels.
An investment in online platforms, combined with ongoing “natural consumer shifts” to these channels, has resulted in Eurocamp deciding to reconsider its presence within the UK travel trade in favour of direct channels, the company said.
Eurocamp has issued formal notice to travel agent partners in line with all commercial agreements.
The operator pledged to honour all existing bookings. All terms and conditions for any changes to bookings will remain in place for bookings already made by agents.
Eurocamp chief operating officer, Stijn Depraetere, said: “We haven’t taken this decision lightly and we recognise the contribution and high levels of service delivered by the trade, and would like to thank everyone for their contribution”.
