Youngsters aged between 16 and 24 are more likely to book through a travel agent, the ABTA holiday survey conducted by Ipsos MORI has found.
A total of 45% of this age group said they had booked their last holiday in person with a travel agent.
A further 50% said they would use an agent, either online, by phone or in person.
The 25 to 44 age group were the most web savvy, with 68% using the internet to book their last trip.
Some 35% of the 702 people questioned book with a travel agent and 16% with a tour operator.
Holidaymakers in Greater London were most likely to book online and customers in the West Midlands were least likely to.
