GLOBAL distribution system supplier Sabre has upgraded its graphics-based computer product Planet Sabre to allow agents to make bookings for flights.
Planet Sabre was launched in the UK in 1997, allowing agents to make bookings over the GDS using simple point-and-click technology rather than complicated codes.
However, Sabre experienced problems developing the air-fare component into a graphics-based system. This meant that, although agents have been able to use the point-and-click system to book suppliers including car hire companies and hotels, they had had to revert to using codes when booking flights.
Planet Sabre also highlights travel promotions so that agents can point out special offers to clients.
