Advantage searches for 2009 conference venue

Advantage Travel Centres is making its tender document available to tourist boards, hotel groups and venues for its 2009 conference.

The majority of Advantage members say they prefer a destination within two to four hours travelling distance to the UK or to stay within the UK.

Advantage Travel Centres sales and marketing director Colin O’Neill, said: “Following the success of last year’s conference we are now beginning to plan for next year and have already been approached by some tourist boards, cruise lines and hotel groups.

“Essentially we are looking for a partner or partners who have an easily accessible venue, meeting space to cater for over 500 delegates including facilities to hold workshops and speed dating events, accommodation for our delegates and access to venues for social activities and events.

“Our annual conference is the main event of the year for our members with the opportunity to get together with our supplier partners and we pride ourselves on putting together a well run, slick meeting.

“Working with the Catalonia Tourist Board in Sitges this year worked extremely well and with excellent feedback from everyone who attended so we would be looking to match that success.”

The event is scheduled to take place over two days in late September or October 2009.
