Members of trade-only operator If Only…’s after sales team had their own charitable take on an advent calendar as they used the festive tradition to support a food bank.
Instead of each staff member opening a ‘window’, they each brought in food items for the East Dunbartonshire Food Bank initiative, administered by the Trussell Trust, on their designated day of the month.
Those who drew dates later than December 15 brought their donations in early to the food hamper can be delivered to St Joseph’s Church in Milngavie on Sunday December 16.
Organiser Brenda Burnett said: “Our current marketing is all about ‘happy holidays’, so we thought it would be good to try and make the holiday season happier for those who may be worrying about how to cope at this time of year.
“All my colleagues have been so supportive, so I’d like to think it’s a new Christmas tradition we have started at If Only…”
