Intrepid Travel makes Belarus debut

Intrepid Travel is making its debut in Belarus with a special itinerary to run next summer.

The landlocked country in eastern Europe is an area often missed on the tourist trail.

The tour includes spending the night inside the 16th century Nesvizh Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and staying in a traditional village with a local family.

The 11-day trip starts at £1,084 per person and includes accommodation, transport, activities and selected meals but excludes flights.

Intrepid Europe destination manager Stefan Hellmuth arranged a meeting with Dmitry Sudas, senior counsellor at the Belarus embassy to showcase the highlights of the tour and the efforts made to increase visitor arrivals.

Hellmuth said: “Belarus is an area shaped in some ways by conflict, with many tourists not aware of the beautiful landscape and grand architectural treasures.

“It’s a land to be explored – we’ve uncovered areas that are less-known and will take our travellers across the country to see Belarus through the eyes of a local.

“It’s something that is becoming more prevalent now as tourists are looking to discover destinations away from the crowds.”
