Star Princess leaves dry dock after multi-million dollar revamp

Star Princess is set to embark on a series of 15-night itineraries sailing the Hawaiian Islands after its multi-million pound renovation.

Princess Cruises’ 2,600-guest vessel went in for a two-week dry dock at the Victoria Shipyards in Canada last month.

The refurbished ship now boasts redesigned youth centres, an enhanced spa, an updated fitness centre and a wider choice of shopping.

The onboard kids club has been redesigned in partnership with the Discovery Channel and renamed ‘Camp Discovery’.

New carpet and upholstery can be found throughout the vessel while the Princess livery is now on the ship’s hull.

Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises’ president, said: “These enhancements continue our £330 million multi-year ship renovation campaign, enhancing our onboard guest experience.”

Star Princess will sail itineraries around Hawaii for the next four months before being based in Alaska for the summer.
