The introduction of EasyJet ski flights in December and new routes by Tui and Flybe helped Southampton airport notch up record passenger numbers last year.
Throughput grew by more than 6% year-on-year to reach 2.08 million travellers using the south coast airport.
New routes being introduced this year include Menorca by Tui and Skiathos with start-up Fly LoLo.
Southampton is part of AGS Airports which also owns Glasgow and Aberdeen airports.
Airport managing director Dave Lees said: “2017 was the airport’s busiest year ever on record.
“The growth was driven by a combination of new routes and new airlines, giving even greater choice to people in our region.
“Southampton now has 40 destinations served by over ten airlines and tour operators.”
