Three new trustees for Travel Foundation

The Co-operative Travel managing director Mike Greenacre has taken on a new role as a trustee of The Travel Foundation.

He joins two other two trustees, who have been newly appointed: Wexas International managing director Steve Allen and Tourism Concern senior project manager Guyonne James.

The Travel Foundation is an independent UK charity set up to help the travel industry manage tourism sustainably.

Greenacre will serve as a trustee and will also join the fundraising strategy group within the finance and audit sub-committee, working to increase the charity’s income. Allen will also join the finance committee, while James will join the charity’s Activities Committee.

Other trustees of the charity include Travel Foundation chairman Roger Heape, former managing director of British Airways Holidays, TUI Travel managing director Dermot Blastland, Thomas Cook director John de Vial and  ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer.

Mike Greenacre said: “If the travel industry wants to have a future it has to invest in sustainable tourism. The Travel Foundation is leading the way.”

Travel Foundation Chairman Roger Heape said: “We are delighted to welcome three highly experienced new trustees to the foundation.”
