Air Europa and Ryanair extend alliance

Additional Air Europa routes are being marketed on the Ryanair website as the two carriers expand an alliance.

The inclusion and marketing of 150 routes operated by the Spanish airline on the Irish budget carrier’s website endorses the pioneering partnership introduced in May last year.

The development means that Air Europa has been able to duplicate its connectivity and exposure by connecting more than 50 airports in Europe and Americas.

Significantly increasing its visibility to millions of potential clients, Consumers will now be able to book connecting flights via Madrid to transatlantic destinations including Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and the US.

The move comes as Air Europa gears up to introduce its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner on long-haul routes.

Air Europa UK managing director Colin Stewart said: “Partnering with Ryanair has been a big step in offering more access to clients booking Air Europa flight routes.

“We are pleased to be taking this next step in our alliance with the airline which has significantly strengthened Air Europa’s position in this competitive sector.”

The initial arrangement enabled Ryanair passengers to book flights operated by Air Europa to 19 transatlantic destinations and to Tel Aviv.
