Jet2.com increases capacity from Manchester for summer 2019

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has increased capacity on routes to Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey from Manchester for summer 2019 and added a new route to La Rochelle.

The airline and operator has increased the number of seats from the north west airport by 12%, putting 2.8 million seats on sale next summer.

It will offer 46 sun and city destinations, its biggest programme yet from Manchester, where it is to base two new aircraft.

Weekly flights to La Rochelle, France, begin in May 2019.

Extra capacity from Manchester to Canary Islands Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote means 28 weekly services next summer.

Alicante will be served twice daily, Malaga 13 times a week, Ibiza 14 times a week, Mallorca 26 times a week and a new Wednesday service to Barcelona takes Jet2’s flights there from Manchester to six a week.

There will be extra capacity to Faro, Portugal, meaning three flights a day and to Menorca, with larger aircraft increasing the number of seats by 25%.

Portuguese island Madeira will have an extra route from Manchester on Sundays, meaning three flights per week.
In Turkey, capacity will be increased 20% to Antalya and 30% to Dalaman.

More capacity to Cyprus is also to be added, with a new Sunday service to Larnaca taking scheduled flights to five per week and a new Thursday service to Paphos meaning daily flights from Manchester with Jet2.

From summer 2019, there will be five flights a week from Manchester to Dubrovnik with the addition of Friday flights.

And in Italy, new Wednesday flights mean a daily service to Rome and larger aircraft and a longer season means 16% more capacity to Naples.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Another huge investment in our base here gives local holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility.”

Stephen Turner, commercial director at Manchester Airport, added: “It’s fantastic to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays continuing to grow at Manchester Airport with two additional aircraft and extra capacity on key destinations around Europe.

“La Rochelle is a new route for our passengers and one I’m sure will prove hugely popular.”
