Leading international experts in the field of resilience planning will gather in Jordan in June to discuss best practice for the travel and tourism industry and the impact of tourism resilience on destinations, businesses and the global traveller.
The two-day Resilience Through Tourism Summit will be hosted in Amman by Jacobs Media Group, Europe’s largest travel trade media company, in collaboration with Jordan Tourism Board with the support of international development agency USAID.
Jordan has adopted a strategic approach to tourism resilience planning in recent years, maintaining traveller numbers to the region through “perception management, partnerships and the use of positive narrative”, as well as embracing “new techniques, technology and tactics”.
Key speakers at the conference will include the Jordanian minister of tourism and antiquities, H.E. Lina Annab, as well as speakers from organisations including CBS News, Jamaican Ministry of Tourism, USAID, TripAdvisor, Google, Mastercard and WTTC.
Topics to be discussed will include: ABCs of Resilience, Perception and Brand Management, Creative Use of Analytics, Business Continuity and Regional Cybersecurity and Social Media.
The event will take place at the Fairmont Amman hotel on June 26 and 27.
