Clia to hold first River Cruise Day in April

Clia will hold its first dedicated River Cruise Day on April 3.

The day will be dedicated to the sector with training opportunities such as webinars with suppliers, live events and a new online module about the full length of the Danube being made available to agents.

River operators have also been encouraged to provide tailored promotions and assets to the trade for the day.

Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland managing director, announced the initiative at the association’s RiverView conference in Budapest in front of 400 agents.

Harmer told attendees: “Next month for the first time we will be launching a Clia River Cruise Day so please look out for details of how you can get involved.

“This is a great opportunity for you as sellers of river cruise to use to talk to your customers about the great things that river cruise offers, particularly if they have never river cruised before.

“Please use this day when the whole sector will come together to showcase what availability, news and exciting innovations and initiatives are available on our rivers.”

Clia will be putting details on how to register interest on its Facebook pages and website.

Harmer added applications would soon open for the next intake of its six-month River Cruise Champion programme, which is due to start in November.

Additionally, registrations will open in the summer for Clia’s River Cruise Forum which will take place on October 23 in Glasgow.
