Former Shearings Holidays commercial director Caroline Brown has joined Welsh coach company Edwards Coaches in a newly created role, as the company expands its management team.
Brown takes on the role of general manager, following positions as commercial director and business unit leader for Shearings Holidays, and chair of Abta UK Tourism and Leisure Group. Brown will be responsible for both the Edwards Holidays and Ecole school brands.
She said: “I am delighted to be joining Edwards Coaches at such a time of development and growth and look forward to working with Jason, the Edwards family and team.”
Edwards Coaches Ltd, which has been a family-run company since its inception in 1925, has also appointed Caroline Narloch, also from Shearings, to another new role as head of contracting.
Jason Edwards, Edwards Coaches managing director, said: “Having known both Carolines for many years, I’m extremely proud to announce them joining Edwards Coaches. They are pretty much up there with the best in the UK and it speaks volumes of our company’s ambition by attracting such high class individuals.
“Personally, I’m excited and looking forward to working alongside them both and I’m sure they will complement the existing strong team already in place at Edwards. They bring a wealth of experience with them and I am confident that our loyal customers and staff will see immediate benefits in our holiday programme.”
Edwards Coaches carries 6,500 students on school trips each day, as well as operating most National Express coaches for Wales, and local bus services in Pontypridd and Cardiff.
