Omega Breaks owner JG Travel Group (JGTG) says it is more accessible to travel agents than ever despite group head of trade sales Dino Toouli leaving the business.
His departure is understood to be a mutual decision based on the company’s decision to drop its chartered air holidays product, which flew from regional airports and was one of its biggest sellers among third parties.
JGTG acquired Omega Holiday Group, where Toouli was head of trade sales, in September 2017 and he was appointed group head of trade sales in November – overseeing both Omega Breaks and Just Go! Holidays.
The company has confirmed that Toouli has departed the business in the last month.
Sales and marketing director Matthew Eastlake said: “When we moved the two businesses together, we changed our product mix having reviewed all the products across the four brands.”
Alongside its Just Go! Holidays and Omega Breaks brands, JGTG operates direct-sell brands Cruise Connections and Albion Journeys.
Around 10% of Omega Breaks sales are made through the trade and its autumn and winter holidays are on sale now.
Eastlake stressed that both Omega Breaks and Just Go! Holidays will continue to be sold through the trade, adding: “If anything, we are more accessible [to agents] than we ever have been.
“There is no question it’s a channel that is very important to us. There is growth, but the charters were a big part of that that side of the business so a chunk has been taken out of that.”
