A crash involving an AeroMexico aircraft Tuesday injured dozens but resulted in no fatalities Mexican authorities have confirmed.
The Embraer E190 crashed just after take off in the Durango region of Mexico with 101 passengers and crew on board.
Video footage showed emergency crews on the scene as smoke poured from the largely intact aircraft.
Jose Rosas Aispuro, Durango state governor, confirmed the aircraft was hit by a gust of wind, causing it to lose speed.
A wing struck the ground but the aircraft came halt in a horizontal position enabling all passengers to escape.
Of the 99 passengers and four crew members 49 were taken to hospital.
