Jet2holidays and airline Jet2.com celebrated Yorkshire Day at Leeds Bradford airport this week by surprising holidaymakers with a choir donning flat caps and singing classic songs from the county.
Yorkshire anthem Ilkley Moor Baht ‘at was among the songs performed, along with a rendition of Yorkshire band the Kaiser Chiefs’ Ruby.
Crowded House’s Always Take the Weather With You, and Staying Out for the Summer by Dodgy were also belted out to passengers waiting at check-in by local singing group So Choir!
Phil Ward, managing director of Jet2.com said: “As Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator we wanted to celebrate our Yorkshire heritage in style, whilst wishing customers a lovely holiday and putting everybody in the holiday spirit. We certainly managed to do that, and customers departing yesterday morning took off on their well-deserved holidays with a real spring in their step.”
