Thanks to all of your votes, Sarah will be married by the Captain of Emerald Princess during a nine-night Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale in October.

Sarah will walk down the aisle in a fabulous Mori Lee halterneck wedding dress with a beautiful bunch of ivory callas, hand-tied with white ribbon.

Coordinating calla centrepieces will decorate the tables and guests will enjoy a delicious tiered chocolate wedding cake.

In the ship’s main dining room, Sarah’s and David’s bridal party will have their own private area decorated with the ship’s crisp white table linen, balloons and flowers.

Guests will enjoy a delicious three course meal and be treated to a fabulous champagne waterfall.

Once Sarah and David have tied the knot, they will begin their honeymoon visiting the sun-drenched islands of St Maarten, St Thomas, Grand Turk and our own private castaway haven in the Bahamas, Princess Cays.

White sands, azure waters, the Caribbean breeze… what an idyllic way to start their marriage together.

We wish Sarah a fantastic Princess wedding.

Meet Sarah and her family

Sarah and David

Sarah Atherton and David KyrianouOur lucky winner, Sarah Atherton, 24, is a travel consultant with Dawson and Sanderson in Hull and has been with her partner David Kyrianou, 27, for nearly two years.

The couple, who live in Hull, met in London while Sarah was working as a cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and David was on an IT course.

Sarah, who has been working in travel since she was 17, said: “We thought we would have to wait until 2011 to get married because David is working in retail on part-time hours due to the recession. I thought I’d give it a go but I never imagined I would win!

“I hope the travel agents are nice to me, but I’m not worried because they’ve got good taste. This is my first proper cruise so it’s extra exciting!”

Sarah’s bridegroom, David, says:  ” I could not believe it when Sarah called me and told me that she’d won the competition. I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise ship so it’s even more special to be getting married at sea by the Captain.”

Sarah’s entry caught the judges’ eye because her wedding plans were being hampered by the recession.

Choose us to say I do, credit crunch is making us blue,
the stylish Princess venue is our dream come true

The maid of honour

Sarah Wright says:

This opportunity is like winning the lottery for Sarah and my brother, David.  I was so thrilled when Sarah asked me to be maid of honour and I’ve been so excited that I’ve already prepared my speech!

I could not have wished for a better sister-in-law. David is a very lucky man.”

Carolyn Atherton Sarah’s mum

Carolyn Atherton says:

Sarah is over the moon! I was so pleased for her when she and David got engaged, and winning this prize is her dream!

Not only is this going to be a fantastic day for Sarah and David, it’s going to be an amazing holiday for the whole family!

And what a great excuse to get some posh new frocks!
