MIDCONSORT will unveil new technology at its first overseas conference in Palma this weekend.
The new system is one of the consortium’s most important developments since forming more than 20 years ago.
Chief executive Sue Foxall has been working on the project for a number of months and will launch the system to members next Sunday.
She said it will not be compulsory for members to use it but estimated 75% of agents will take up the offer.
“It is a state-of-the-art system that has been designed exclusively for Midconsort,” she said. “Technology is crucial yet some of our members do not have a system of any description apart from the computer reservations system. The conference is labelled Focus on the Future and with new technology that is what Midconsort is doing.”
The Midlands consortium will also unveil a new modern look at the conference. Foxall said more than 200 delegates will attend the conference, more than 100 of which will be Midconsort members. Airtours Holidays managing director Chris Mottershead will be interviewed on stage by Travel Weekly editor Jeremy Skidmore on Sunday.
