The Institute of Travel and Tourism’s (ITT) conference has sold out this year.
There are now 400 delegates booked to go to the conference, which takes place on June 8-10 at the InterContinental Hotel Festival City, Dubai. Six delegates are on the waiting list.
Chairman Steven Freudmann said the event had taken longer to fill this year because of the economic climate, cost of the event, and because places are limited to two per company for the first time.
He said: “It’s difficult in this economic climate and people are looking very carefully at their budgets, but it shows the huge commitment to ITT and the fact the conference is now recognised as the blue ribbon event of the industry.
“If we hadn’t limited the conference places we would have been sold out a long time ago.”
He admitted next year’s challenge could be to find a less expensive destination to host the event. “The challenge for ITT will be to look at something rather less expensive, although we will be led by the members and the feedback we get from Dubai,” he added.
