The Co-operative Travel has launched a new recruitment process for its head office, travel agencies and Future Travel homeworkers.
The group now has a dedicated team at its head office in Stoke-on-Trent, who will deal with recruitment.
The team are screening candidates to be included in a central ‘talent pool’ database, which can be accessed by all corners of the business.
“We have grown so much, and the business is so diverse, that we wanted to make sure there was consistency in our recruitment process,” said The Co-operative Travel Group learning and development manager Gaynor Golding.
“We want people with a travel background, but also people with a good customer service background and who are well travelled,” she added.
Agents who already work at the group can benefit from finding new staff for the company. “Our new employee referral scheme means agents can receive £500 holiday vouchers if they refer a new member of staff who stays with the company,” said Golding.
The company is also working with the Job Centre to find candidates, and a recruitment area on its intranet has been set up for internal recruitment.
