Thomson and First Choice have launched their new brochures and programmes for 2010, adding new destinations and all-inclusive options.
The two TUI Travel-owned companies usually launch preview brochures in May, followed by a full brochure launch in July. However, in the current economic climate tour operators have delayed the preview launches to allow staff to focus on selling summer holidays and the lates market.
Head of product for short haul, mid haul and product development Alex Loftus said: “This year we are keen to come out with the full programme. We are launching the full brochures earlier to make sure we have the best products from the suppliers. They have given us some good offers in euro destinations and up until Christmas is a good time for customers to buy.”
He was upbeat about sales for 2010, claiming holidays are still the last thing to go. He said: “If we have got the right product, we will do well.”
First Choice has launched nine brochures with two new concepts: the Splash Collection, which features all properties with water parks for the family market, and an all-inclusive brochure, which has been introduced because “people are looking for a set budget for their holidays,” said Loftus.
Thomson has launched 11 first edition 2010 brochures and added a range of new resorts, including the new five-star Sensatori Resort in Tenerife, Spain and Marsa Matruh in Egypt on the Mediterranean coast.
Thomson is also extending its redundancy protection, which is valid on bookings up until August 31 and departing between November 1 and October 31 2010.
Thomas Cook has also launched its summer 2010 brochures this week.
