More flights are being added from London to the US west coast city of Portland and to Detroit by Delta Air Lines for summer 2019.
The carrier is raising frequency from four flights a week to a daily seasonal summer service from Heathrow to Portland.
A second daily service to Detroit will also be introduced from the London hub.
Delta is the only carrier to serve Portland with non-stop flights from the UK.
Operated in conjunction with joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic, the daily service to the creative capital of the Pacific north-west will strengthen the airline partners’ coverage of the west coast by complementing existing flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
The second daily Detroit flight will offer more opportunity for travellers to discover the renaissance of the Motor City’s or connect to more than 90 US destinations, including Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Orlando.
Delta is to deploy 210-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the Portland and Detroit services, with 35 fully flat-bed seats in the Delta One cabin, 32 seats in Delta Comfort+ and 143 seats in economy.
On board facilities include wi-fi access and free mobile messaging via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and iMessage.
Delta’s vice president transatlantic, Roberto Ioriatti, said: “Portland is fast becoming one of the hippest U.S. destinations; a vibrant, friendly city that’s compact enough to explore by bike yet has some of America’s best national parks on its doorstep.
“We’re upping our frequencies in response to customer demand.
“With Virgin Atlantic, Delta offers UK holidaymakers nonstop and one stop access to over 200 cities across the US, and we’re delighted to offer more choice to Portland and Detroit next summer.”
