Advantage set for internal shake-up after franchise failure

ADVANTAGE will announce an internal shake-up this week in the wake of its failed franchise deal with Airtours.

The restructure is likely to see expanded roles for its sales development managers but a replacement for former managing director Ron Muir is said to be unlikely.

The consortium is also expected to launch its Web site this week.

Meanwhile, commercial director Neil Armorgie, who is also expected to have additional responsibilities under the restructure, insisted members had accepted the new commercial deal with Airtours.

He said the end of the franchise could improve relations with other operators.

“There was concern over how and why they should work with us,” said Armorgie. “Those barriers have now been broken.”

First Choice held talks with the consortium two days after the end of the franchise.
