Airport saw passengernumbers increase by 17% last month compared to September 1998. The total of 79,924 was due to increased charter traffic and extra international



customers.



n BAA to unveil losses after duty-free ban



BAA will reveal the impact on profits of the loss on intra-European Union duty free sales at its airports and Eurotunnel onNovember 1. Estimates put the loss at about £80m. City analysts predict BAA will record pre-tax profits of around £460m in the year to the end of March 2000. In 1998/99 the group made £516m.



n Air 2000 launches weekly larnaca servicE



Air 2000 launches weekly flights to Larnaca fromNewcastle on November 3. The service will operate throughout November, from December 22 to January 5 and during April. Return fares lead-in at £208.
