5 things you can do on a family holiday to the Maltese islands

1. Get in touch with your adventurous side

From segway tours to quad biking, adventure lies at every turn. On land, families can explore on a jeep safari, or at sea, children over 10 can gain a PADI qualfication and see for themselves why Malta is the second-best diving destination in the world.

2. Experience history in a new way

Malta is full of history, but its old capital city Mdina has an extensive past of over 4,000 years. No cars are allowed, so why not experience the beautiful city on horse and cart?

3. Participate in one of the island’s 400 events

Easter festivities, the Malta Summer Carnival and the Malta International Fireworks Festival are just three of hundreds of events to choose from on the island.

4. Stroll along the waterfronts

Valletta, St Julian’s and Sliema all have waterfronts boasting an array of restaurants, bars, cafes and more. Pop into some of the boutique shops along the promenades before enjoying an amazing seafront dinner.

5. Relax on the white sand beaches

Mellieha Bay in the north of the island is just one of Malta’s white-sand beaches. With 50 metres of shallow waters, it’s the ideal place for families with small children, and there are plenty of watersports to try out too.
